The Columbus Alzheimer Care Center is committed to providing graceful transitions
to those elders within our care afflicted by dementia and Alzheimer’s disease at every
stage of the illness.

The Columbus Alzheimer Care Center is a 100-bed Medicare/Medicaid certified skilled
nursing center which was the first facility established in Ohio solely dedicated to the care
of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other related disorders. Our philosophy of
care is profoundly simple: create an environment which enables those afflicted with
Alzheimer’s disease to function at their highest potential and to lead dignified and
meaningful lives. This is accomplished by combining a uniquely designed architectural
setting with individualized care and support.

No two residents are alike; each must be approached individually with creative care
techniques that overcome obstacles unique to that resident. To provide such care, our
staff becomes thoroughly familiar with each resident. We involve families of our residents
in a “partners in care” relationship that helps provide the best and most appropriate care
for each person because it is only in knowing an individual’s past that we can help
stimulate thought in the present. We accommodate the wishes of our residents and
their families and never force participation in structured programs that may not be of
benefit. We strive with every effort possible to maintain individual resident care plans
that are chemically and physically restraint free.

Our center has been thoughtfully, carefully and appropriately planned to address the
specific needs of dementia residents and their families. The efficient 41,500-square-foot
design accommodates a comprehensive range of services which provides assistance from
early stages of the illness such as mild cognitive impairment to advanced stages which
require more extensive care and behavior management.
